1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register for AffiliScribe, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment information — we do not store credit card numbers directly.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including:

  • Features used and frequency of use (Product Analyzer, Niche Scout, Content Generator, etc.)
  • Products analyzed and articles generated
  • WordPress publishing activity
  • Login timestamps and session duration

Content Data

We store the content you create through the Service, including product analyses, article angles, generated articles, affiliate links, and WordPress site configurations. This data is necessary to provide the Service and is associated with your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process your subscription and payments
  • Send you service-related communications (billing, security, feature updates)
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our AI models and user experience
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
  • Generate anonymized, aggregated analytics for internal business intelligence

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions
  • AI Service Providers: Content generation requests are processed through LLM APIs. Prompts may contain product data you provide but do not include your personal account information.
  • WordPress Sites: When you publish articles, content is transmitted to your configured WordPress sites using the credentials you provide.
  • DataForSEO: Keyword and competition analysis data. Only search terms are transmitted, not personal data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers hosted by our infrastructure provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Password hashing using bcrypt with salt rounds
  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • JWT-based session management with expiration
  • Role-based access controls for admin functionality

WordPress app passwords and API credentials are stored encrypted in our database and are never exposed through our user interface.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

  • Personal account data is deleted within 30 days
  • Generated content (articles, analyses) is permanently deleted
  • Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained for analytics
  • Payment records are retained as required by law and Stripe's policies

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data

7. Cookies & Tracking

AffiliScribe uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Usage tracking is performed server-side and does not rely on browser cookies beyond session authentication.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in locations outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations, which may have different data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
